President Paul Kagame received Mahamoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, in his office for talks focused on strengthening the already strong bilateral relations between Rwanda and Tanzania.
A statement shared on Village Urugwiro’s official X account indicated that President Kagame and Minister Kombo held discussions centered on reinforcing the solid partnership between Rwanda and Tanzania.

Rwanda and Tanzania maintain strong cooperation across various sectors, including information and communication technology. The two countries have also signed agreements covering the movement of people and goods, education, and regulations related to pharmaceuticals.
In July 2025, Rwanda and Tanzania signed an agreement to establish offices of the Tanzania Ports Authority in Kigali, marking a significant step toward boosting trade between the two nations.
The two countries already collaborate closely in trade, with Rwanda relying on the Port of Dar es Salaam for imports, while also exporting goods to Tanzania.
