US President Donald Trump made more than $1.4 billion from cryptocurrency-related ventures in 2025, according to new federal financial disclosures, raising fresh questions about ethics and possible conflicts of interest.

The documents, released by the US Office of Government Ethics, show that a large share of the income came from Trump-linked digital asset projects, including World Liberty Financial and sales of Trump-branded meme coins.

According to an Al Jazeera report, More than $500 million was reportedly generated from World Liberty Financial, a crypto firm co-founded by Trump and his sons, while about $635 million came from the sale of Trump-themed digital tokens.

The filings indicate that cryptocurrency has become one of Trump’s biggest sources of income, overtaking traditional real estate and hotel businesses that previously dominated his wealth.

Since returning to the White House in 2025, Trump has introduced crypto-friendly policies, including support for wider digital asset adoption and regulatory changes aimed at strengthening the industry in the United States.

However, the scale of the earnings has triggered political debate, with critics arguing that the president’s financial interests in the sector could influence policy decisions.

The White House has denied any wrongdoing, saying Trump’s assets are handled through family-managed structures and that his administration’s policies are designed to support national economic growth and innovation in digital finance.

The new disclosures are expected to intensify ongoing discussions in Washington over ethics rules for public officials with private business interests, especially in fast-growing industries like cryptocurrency.
