Rwanda is expected to receive above-average rainfall between November 1 and 10, with several areas forecast to record up to 120 mm, according to the Rwanda Meteorology Agency (Meteo Rwanda).
In its forecast for the first 10 days of November 2026, the agency said rainfall is expected to range between 30 and 120 mm across the country, slightly above the long-term average of 25 to 106 mm recorded during the same period.
The country is also expected to experience between four and six rainy days, depending on the location.
Musanze, Nyabihu and Ngororero districts are among the areas expected to receive the highest rainfall, ranging from 90 to 120 mm. Several parts of Rubavu, Rutsiro, Gakenke, Rusizi, Nyamasheke and Nyamagabe districts are also expected to receive similar amounts.
Meanwhile, other parts of the country, including areas in the Southern and Northern provinces and Kigali City, are expected to receive between 45 and 60 mm of rainfall. The remaining areas are forecast to receive between 30 and 45 mm.
Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 20°C and 30°C, while nighttime temperatures will range from 10°C to 19°C.
In addition, wind speeds are expected to range between 4 and 12 metres per second across the country. Stronger winds are forecast in parts of Karongi, Nyamagabe, Ngororero, Rutsiro, Rubavu, Nyabihu and Muhanga districts.
Meteo Rwanda said the expected rainfall will be influenced by the southward movement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) towards the equator, where Rwanda is located. The Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO), which is linked to the movement of atmospheric circulation over the Indian Ocean, is also expected to influence rainfall patterns.
The agency has advised residents, particularly those in areas expected to receive heavy rainfall and strong winds, to take preventive measures to reduce possible risks.
It also urged the public to follow guidance from the Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA).
