Global Leaders Gather as Munich Security Conference Enters Day Two

Zelenskyy and Top Diplomats Lead Key Talks on Ukraine and Global Security

The 62nd Munich Security Conference was held from 13 to 15 February 2026 in Munich, Germany, bringing together more than 60 heads of state and government, as well as senior diplomats and security leaders from across the globe. Widely regarded as one of the world’s most influential platforms for high-level dialogue, the annual forum focused on global stability, geopolitical tensions, and emerging security challenges shaping the international order.

Among the high-profile participants are U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as the ongoing war in Ukraine dominates the agenda. Leaders are expected to focus on military support for Kyiv, diplomatic pathways, and long-term security guarantees.

The United States is also using the conference to reaffirm transatlantic unity and coordinate strategies with European allies amid evolving geopolitical tensions. Zelenskyy’s presence highlights the urgency of continued international backing as Ukraine faces mounting challenges.

Beyond Ukraine, discussions are covering broader issues such as Indo-Pacific tensions, cyber threats, energy security, and the role of artificial intelligence in defense. The gathering also provides space for bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening alliances and shaping future partnerships.

Founded in 1963, the Munich Security Conference has become a key venue for shaping global security dialogue. While it produces no binding agreements, its discussions often influence international policy directions and signal the tone of cooperation among world powers.
