Arnold Schwarzenegger, widely known for his roles in popular films, has been awarded an honorary doctorate at a ceremony held in Belfast.
The degree was conferred by Ulster University, 60 years after he first won a bodybuilding title there as a young man.
University officials said they awarded the actor, famous for films like Predator, in recognition of “his outstanding career and his contributions to public service.”

Schwarzenegger, now 78, told attendees that when he first came for the competition, it was his first time visiting the city.
In a humorous tone, he added that it was also the first time he had spoken English publicly-something he had never done before. This was back in 1966.
During his speech, the actor advised students at the university to set clear goals in life, saying that having a strong vision helped him achieve success.
He said: “The most important thing in life is to have a clear vision of what you want to achieve.”

Schwarzenegger later transitioned into politics, where he served as Governor of the U.S. state of California.
He was most recently seen in projects such as FUBAR (Season 2), and the 2019 film Terminator: Dark Fate.
