From March 26 to 30, 2026, friendly matches of the FIFA Series were held in Kigali, bringing together eight national teams from different continents.
At the end of the tournament, Rwanda national football team won the first group, while Aruba claimed victory in the second group.
Following the matches, Infantino commended Rwanda for its excellent organization and hospitality.
He said, “What a fantastic week of football in Rwanda. Thank you for organizing and hosting two groups of the FIFA Series 2026.”
“We are pleased with the FIFA Arena project launched at Kagarama Secondary School, which highlights our commitment to improving infrastructure. Football requires proper equipment, which is why we also introduced another initiative called ‘Boots for All.’”

The FIFA president also expressed satisfaction with various projects implemented in Rwanda during the week.
He added, “Finally, I am delighted to see the inauguration of a new hotel for national teams for men, women, and youth, built under the FIFA Forward program.”

Infantino also extended special thanks to Paul Kagame, noting that Rwanda is a strong partner of FIFA.
He said, “I would especially like to thank President Paul Kagame for his support in implementing all these projects, which have brought joy to boys and girls. Rwanda is a great partner in Africa, advancing football development and serving as a model for other countries around the world.”
