Israel has confirmed it carried out fresh airstrikes on Iran’s “leadership compound” in Tehran, including the presidential office and the Supreme National Security Council, according to BBC News live reporting.
The Israeli military said multiple munitions were dropped on key regime infrastructure. The compound was previously used by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in weekend US-Israeli strikes.
Death Toll Rises to 787
Iran’s Red Crescent Society says at least 787 people have been killed since the attacks began on Saturday. US-based Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRANA) reports that 742 civilians are among the dead, including 176 children.
Iranian officials accuse Israel and the United States of targeting medical facilities, including Gandhi Hospital in Tehran. Israel denies deliberately striking hospitals.
A journalist inside Tehran told the BBC that “every part” of the capital has been hit since Saturday, though internet outages are limiting independent verification.
Regional Escalation
Israel also announced plans to seize additional strategic areas in Lebanon to prevent cross-border fire from Hezbollah. In Saudi Arabia, two drones struck the US embassy in Riyadh, reportedly launched from Iran.
Meanwhile, energy markets reacted sharply, with European gas prices surging amid fears of wider disruption across the Middle East.
The United States has urged its citizens in the region to leave immediately, warning that further retaliation is possible as tensions continue to escalate.
