Jill Biden opens up about fear of losing Joe as he battles cancer

Former US First Lady Jill Biden has spoken about the difficult journey she and her husband, Joe Biden, are facing after leaving the White House, as the former president battles an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Jill Biden said the thought that she could lose her husband at any time is frightening, but she is trying to focus on making the most of the time they still have together.

Speaking on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, Jill said she cannot imagine life without Joe Biden.

“Of course I’m afraid. I mean, first of all, he’s almost 10 years older than I am, and when you have an illness like this, you can’t ignore it,” she said.

She added that accepting the reality that life eventually comes to an end is something everyone has to face.

“It’s like you can’t imagine your life without your spouse. But you know one day he’s going to die, just as I know I’m going to die. Some of it, you just have to accept,” she said.

Jill Biden said her husband has remained strong and resilient while facing the illness and continues to encourage members of his family.

She said the couple has chosen to make the most of the time they have rather than focus on negative thoughts.

Joe Biden, she added, is continuing to do well despite the seriousness of his condition, after his prostate cancer spread to his bones.
