Xinhua: China launches new satellite

China’s latest satellite launch successfully placed the SEO satellite into orbit, marking the 664th mission of the Long March series.

TAIYUAN, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) — China successfully sent a new satellite into space on Monday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province.

The SEO satellite was launched at 11:02 a.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a Long March-2C carrier rocket. It entered its preset orbit successfully.

This launch marked the 664th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, according to the launch center.
