Move Africa is a Global Citizen program aimed at combating global inequity by creating employment and business opportunities for African youth through music events held annually. The initiative allows African artists to showcase their talent internationally, promotes investment in local communities, and provides youth with skills training in science and vocational fields.
In 2025, Move Afrika emphasized sustainable development and economic growth, particularly in healthcare. The program encouraged African countries to increase investment in healthcare, strengthen primary care, promote reproductive health and rights, and reduce financial burdens on governments to enhance public health capacity.
During the first Move Afrika concert in Rwanda, held in Kigali in December 2023 and headlined by Kendrick Lamar, the event generated significant impact in job creation, youth training, and entrepreneurship. Over 1,000 Rwandan In 75% of whom were local, made it one of the most successful music events in Rwanda. Other featured performers included Zuchu, Bruce Melodie, DJ TOXXYK, Sherrie Silver, Ariel Wayz, Kivumbi and Bruce The 1st.
Move Afrika continues to provide a platform for African youth and artists to shine on the global stage while driving economic and social empowerment across the continent.
