RSSB Tigers BBC will represent Rwanda in the 2026 season, says BAL

The management of the Basketball Africa League has confirmed that RSSB Tigers BBC will represent Rwanda in the 2026 season, following the withdrawal of APR BBC from the competition

On Monday, March 23, 2026, BAL announced through its official social media platforms that the team will compete in the tournament, confirming earlier reports.

The statement read: “Latest updates from BAL Season 6: RSSB Tigers from the Rwandan league will participate in the Kalahari Conference group stage.”

The Kalahari Conference is set to tip off on March 27, 2026, in Pretoria.

Ahead of the tournament, the team will be led by head coach Henry Mwinuka, assisted by James Maye who recently left APR BBC and Kenneth Gasana.

RSSB Tigers BBC is also expected to sign additional players, both locally and internationally, to strengthen the squad for the competition.

In the previous edition, James Maye helped APR BBC secure a third-place finish.

The top eight teams from the Kalahari and Sahara Conferences will qualify for the playoffs, which will be held in Kigali from May 22 to May 31, 2026.
