He made the remarks in an interview with journalist John Fredericks, stating that the war is nearing its end, but Iran could face serious consequences if it does not act appropriately.
He said, “If they don’t agree to talks, they will face problems they have never seen before.”
Trump added that U.S. Vice President JD Vance, his peace envoy Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are expected to travel to Pakistan for further negotiations as a ceasefire between the two sides is set to expire this week.
The ceasefire, which lasts two weeks, is approaching its end, though it remains unclear when Trump plans to send his envoys to Islamabad.
Meanwhile, as Trump increases pressure on Iran, the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, stated that his country will not accept being pressured into negotiations.
He said, “We do not accept negotiations under pressure, and over the past two weeks, we have been preparing to introduce new developments on the battlefield.”
Ghalibaf is among Iranian officials who previously met with JD Vance and Trump’s envoys in Pakistan, in talks that failed to produce any meaningful outcome.
