Ujiri will oversee all basketball operations for the team, including player recruitment, transfers, scouting, and other sporting activities.
Dallas Mavericks CEO Patrick Dumont said the organization is excited to welcome Ujiri and expressed confidence that they will achieve success together.
Masai said he is delighted to join a club with a strong winning ambition and rich history.

Ujiri is regarded as one of the most respected executives in the NBA, having previously worked with the Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic.
He led the Toronto Raptors from 2013 to 2025, helping the team win its first NBA championship in 2019.
Masai Ujiri is also the founder of Giants of Africa, an organization that supports young African basketball talents.
The Rwanda-friendly executive also owns Zaria Court, one of the modern hospitality facilities in Kigali.
