President Kagame arrived in Nairobi on May 11, 2026, to participate in the Africa-France cooperation summit known as the ‘Africa Forward Summit.’
According to Village Urugwiro, the Office of the President of Rwanda, President Kagame joined fellow Heads of State on the evening of May 11 at the official dinner hosted by the Kenyan President and First Lady.
The statement said: “President Kagame joined fellow Heads of State at a dinner hosted by President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto in honor of Heads of State and Government attending the ‘Africa Forward Summit.’”
President Kagame is expected to chair a discussion on the use of advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), and also deliver remarks to African and French business leaders on environmentally sustainable industrial activities and the use of clean energy.
All discussions at the summit are focused on advancing Africa’s development and strengthening Africa-France cooperation based on mutual interests.
The summit has brought together more than 4,000 participants, including over 25 Heads of State and Government, investors, and innovators. It is also expected to produce resolutions on the future of Africa-France relations.
