Putin concludes China visit as Russia and China sign over 20 cooperation deals

Vladimir Putin has concluded his official visit to China, where he held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and signed more than 20 cooperation agreements covering sectors such as trade and technology.

Putin’s visit came shortly after China hosted Donald Trump.

The Russian leader was welcomed with high honors, reflecting his close relationship with Xi Jinping.

Russia and China signed more than 20 agreements focused on trade and technological cooperation, while also reaffirming their support for a “multi-polar world order.”

The concept of a multi-polar world order refers to a global system in which international decisions and influence are shared among multiple regions and powers, rather than being dominated by a single country.

Supporters of the idea often criticize the United States, arguing that it seeks to dominate global decision-making.

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, both countries called on nations to avoid actions that could disrupt international trade.

The two leaders also agreed to focus on practical and goal-oriented reforms within the global governance system.

Despite reaching agreements in several sectors, reports indicated that the two sides failed to finalize cooperation on the “Power of Siberia 2” natural gas pipeline, although negotiations were described as promising.

The planned pipeline is expected to transport at least 50 billion cubic meters of natural gas annually from Russia’s Yamal region to China through Mongolia.

Based on China’s 2025 gas consumption, the pipeline would supply around 12% of the country’s annual natural gas demand.
