RwandAir to resume Dubai and Doha flights from June 1

RwandAir has announced that it will resume flights to and from Dubai and Doha starting June 1, 2026.

RwandAir’s flights to Doha and Dubai had been suspended since February 28, 2026, following the outbreak of conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran.

A statement released on May 29, 2026 confirmed that operations on the two routes would officially restart on June 1.

“We recognize the importance of these routes to our customers. As these services resume, the safety and well-being of our passengers will remain our top priority,” the statement said.

Aviation reports indicate that many international airlines have also begun restoring flights to Doha and Dubai, with several carriers expected to fully resume operations during June.

Before suspending flights to the region, RwandAir operated multiple weekly flights between Kigali and both Dubai and Doha.

In 2025, cargo transported by RwandAir increased by 2.4%, reaching 6,257 tonnes compared to 6,113 tonnes in 2024. The number of visitors arriving in Rwanda also rose by 9%, reaching 1.49 million people.

Although tensions between the United States and Iran have eased in recent days, occasional flare-ups between the two sides continue to be reported.

On May 28, the United States and Iran agreed to a proposed 60-day ceasefire, though final approval from Donald Trump was still pending. Meanwhile, negotiations aimed at permanently ending the conflict are expected to continue.
