On Friday, June 12, 2026, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which has been awarding stars since 1960, unveiled Beckham’s star, making it the 2,849th on the famous boulevard.
The honor was bestowed in recognition of Beckham’s contribution to the growth of football in the United States, particularly during his time with LA Galaxy in Los Angeles, and later through his role as a co-owner of Inter Miami.
The significance of Beckham’s impact was highlighted by renowned Hollywood actor and producer Tom Cruise, who accompanied him during the ceremony held alongside festivities marking the opening of the FIFA World Cup.
“He is one of the footballers who has made a significant impact beyond the sport. His Hollywood story is remarkable because he demonstrated dedication and hard work that contributed to the growth and prominence of the city of Los Angeles,” Cruise said.
Beckham, who previously captained the England national team, expressed gratitude to basketball legend Michael Jordan, whom he credited with playing an important role in encouraging him to move to the United States, where he eventually became an investor and came to regard the country as home.
The former England captain dedicated the honor to his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their children, including Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, who joined him at the ceremony.
“I’ve had incredible moments throughout my journey because of this place. Receiving a Walk of Fame star is truly special. I know that one day you will bring your children here and tell them the story of someone who achieved great dreams. Making you proud is the thing I cherish most,” Beckham said.
Following the ceremony, Beckham and his guests attended the opening celebrations of the FIFA World Cup in the United States, which were followed by the host nation’s 4-1 victory over Paraguay.
