The airline said the new service will begin on November 18, 2026, with flights operating every day between Entebbe International Airport and Kigali International Airport.
In the same announcement made on Wednesday, Uganda Airlines also revealed that it will launch flights to Accra, Ghana, starting on October 27, 2026. The Accra route will operate four times a week.
According to the airline, the new routes are intended to improve connectivity across Africa by making travel more convenient for passengers while supporting stronger links between African countries.
The launch of the Entebbe–Kigali route is expected to increase competition on one of East Africa’s busiest regional air corridors, which is already served by several airlines. Increased competition could offer passengers more scheduling flexibility and potentially more competitive fares.
The expansion forms part of Uganda Airlines’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence across the continent by adding new destinations and enhancing regional connectivity.
The airline said introducing services to both Kigali and Accra will not only give travelers more choices but also facilitate business, tourism, and trade by improving the movement of people across different regions of Africa.
Uganda Airlines is Uganda’s national carrier. It was re-established to revive the country’s national aviation services after the original Uganda Airlines ceased operations in 2001.
The current airline resumed operations in 2019 with the goal of connecting Uganda to destinations across Africa and beyond. Since its relaunch, it has steadily expanded its network, positioning itself as a key player in promoting trade, tourism, and economic integration across the continent.
