Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, saying Leavitt had made the decision to have more time to focus on her family. Leavitt gave birth to a baby girl in May 2026 and has two children.
Trump praised Leavitt’s work, describing her as one of the people he trusts most.
“An outstanding White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted advisors, Karoline Leavitt, will be leaving this position at the end of the month so that she can have more time to devote to her wonderful family,” Trump said.
Leavitt said that although she returned to work after giving birth, she continued to worry that she would not be able to be the mother she wanted to be for her children while also fulfilling her responsibilities properly.
“Trump has asked me to continue serving as his senior adviser from outside the White House, and I will always fight to keep the MAGA agenda moving forward and put the Republican Party first,” she said.
Leavitt became White House Press Secretary at the age of 27, making her the youngest person in U.S. history to hold the position. She is now 28.
