Inter Miami CF and the Argentina national team forward and captain, Lionel Messi, has continued making football history by reaching 900 career goals, becoming the second player to achieve this milestone after Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the early hours of Thursday, March 19, 2026, Inter Miami faced Nashville SC in the second leg of the Round of 16 in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
In the 7th minute, Messi opened the scoring. The match ended 1-1, but Inter Miami were eliminated on away goals.

Despite the elimination, Messi reached 900 career goals, a milestone previously held only by Cristiano Ronaldo, who currently has 965 goals.
The 38-year-old achieved this record after scoring 672 goals for FC Barcelona, 32 goals for Paris Saint-Germain, 81 goals for Inter Miami and 115 goals for the Argentina national team.
Out of his 900 goals, 755 were scored with his left foot, 111 with his right foot, 30 headers and 4 by other means.
He scored 724 goals inside the penalty area, 176 from outside the box, 112 penalties and 70 free kicks.
