The Miss Uganda 2025 titleholder shared this in an exclusive interview with IGIHE, as she has been in Kigali in recent days.
Since being crowned Miss Uganda, she has often been criticized by some who claim she is Rwandan, linking it to her name “Muhoza.”
In the interview, she said: “I was born and raised in Uganda, but I have Rwandan roots on my mother’s side. I have a big family here.”
She added that she deeply loves Rwanda, especially because of the love and unity among its people.
“I love how Rwandans love their country and each other. I don’t know how to explain it, but it feels like one big family with the same parent. I especially love Rwanda’s culture,” she said.
Miss Muhoza, who attended a concert by Doja Cat in Kigali, said she enjoyed the event even though it coincided with her trip and she had not initially planned to attend.
She also noted that what impressed her most was how, after the concert, attendees went straight home instead of going out to bars, as is common in Uganda.
“I hadn’t planned to attend the concert, but it worked out and I went. I saw people from different countries. What impressed me is that back home in Uganda, after a concert people usually go out, but here everyone remembers they have work the next day and goes home,” she said.
She described this culture of going home to rest and prepare for the next day as a positive practice she would like to see adopted in Uganda, although she acknowledged it may be difficult.
Miss Muhoza also praised Rwanda for investing in events that attract global attention, referring to concerts like Move Afrika, which bring international artists and visitors from around the world.
