Rwanda and Jordan have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU aimed at deepening cooperation in the areas of standards, metrology, testing, certification, capacity building, and trade facilitation.
The agreement was signed by Ambassador James Ngango on behalf of the Government of Rwanda and the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO).
Through this partnership, both countries will work closely to develop and harmonize standards, strengthen measurement systems, improve testing and certification processes, and enhance technical capacity building. In addition, the MoU is expected to support smoother trade procedures between the two nations.
Moreover, the agreement is designed to improve product compliance with international standards, thereby expanding market access for businesses in both Rwanda and Jordan. As a result, it is expected to contribute to increased competitiveness of goods in regional and global markets.
Furthermore, the partnership will facilitate the exchange of technical expertise and best practices between the two national quality institutions, with the aim of strengthening overall quality infrastructure systems.
In addition, the MoU aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen technical regulations and conformity assessment mechanisms.
Both Rwanda and Jordan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing institutional cooperation, and promoting sustainable trade and economic growth.
