US President Donald Trump has announced that the “Board of Peace” has reached an agreement with Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups on a plan to begin disarmament in Gaza.
The agreement outlines a phased process for collecting, documenting, and storing weapons under the supervision of a Palestinian committee and international monitors.
Trump said Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza as the disarmament process progresses, while an international stabilization force would work with a new Palestinian police force to maintain security.
The deal follows months of negotiations involving mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye. However, Israel has not yet officially confirmed its position on the agreement, while some Palestinian groups have raised concerns about how the plan will be implemented.
Hamas said its commitment depends on Israel fulfilling its obligations, including withdrawing forces from Gaza and supporting reconstruction efforts.
The agreement is part of Trump’s wider 20-point plan aimed at ending the Gaza conflict, rebuilding the territory, and establishing a new governance system.
