The United States Department of State has announced plans to issue special passports featuring the image of Donald Trump as part of celebrations marking 250 years of independence.
The spokesperson for the department, Tommy Pigott, explained that this does not mean all passports will include Trump’s image, but the number of passports to be issued under this initiative has not yet been disclosed.
Pigott stated: “As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary in July, the Department of State is preparing to release a limited number of commemorative passports.”
He added that although the image will appear in these special-edition passports, their security features will remain highly advanced to prevent counterfeiting.
The United States plans to begin issuing these passports in June 2026, and like regular passports, they will be valid for 10 years.
