It also recommended using trusted virtual private networks not headquartered in Russia, Iran, or China, or the Tor network to encrypt communications and conceal identities. Individuals were encouraged to provide relevant background information and potential access to valuable intelligence.

The recruitment drive coincides with a substantial U.S. military buildup in the Middle East, as President Donald Trump has warned that failure in nuclear negotiations could result in military action. U.S. envoys are scheduled to meet Iranian officials in Geneva for indirect talks focused on Tehran’s nuclear program, which Washington suspects could be weaponized, an allegation Iran denies.
